The Ups:
1. Less Responsibility. Most people have more free time in the summer and are tied down to fewer obligations and responsibilities. This opens up more time for the development of innovative ideas on the blog.
2. More Inspiration. Unlike winter, when you’re bundled up inside, summer allows you to explore the world a little bit more. You can turn those sunny day adventures into interesting blog posts.
3. Blog on the Go. Blogging doesn’t have to be an inside activity. Enjoy the sunshine and take advantage of this beautiful season while you blog.
The Downs:
1. You’re Out and About. All of the ‘ups’ of summer blogging can also be negative, depending on your attitude. Although summer adventures can act as inspiration it also means that you have to drag your laptop around with you. Sometimes it can feel like you’re tethered to your work.
2. Less Responsibility, Less Follow-through. Having a more open schedule can be liberating but it may also result in laziness. When you’re not in your usual routine you can fall into the ‘I’ll do it later’ pitfall.
3. Ultimately, your success with summer blogging comes down to your attitude and dedication. If you really love what you do you’ll find ways to make it work with all of your summer adventures. If not you’ll just be a little annoyed until fall, but chances are it will still get done. Every blogger makes their own schedule, sets their own limits, and motivates themselves in a unique way and summer is no different!
