The court of arbitration for sport has confirmed that Bobsledder Nadezhda Sergeeva tested positive for a heart medication. Russian athletes are competing as neutrals after the national team was banned over state sponsored doping.

A wave of suicide attacks in Afghanistan has killed more than 25 people. The single most-deadly incident was at an army post in the western province of Farah, in which at least 22 soldiers died. Taliban insurgents are suspected of carrying out the attacks.
