124　break away（from），break out，break up，break和crack

① break away（from）意為“放棄（習(xí)慣等），脫離（政黨等），打破（陳規(guī)等）”。

You should break away from such habits. 你應(yīng)該改掉這些習(xí)慣。

The thief broke away from the police. 小偷擺脫警察逃跑了。

It has broken away from the old rules. 它已打破了這些陳規(guī)。

② break out意為“（戰(zhàn)爭、火災(zāi)、疾病等）突然發(fā)生，爆發(fā)”，不可用于被動語態(tài)。

A fire broke out during the night. 夜里起了一場火災(zāi)。

The war broke out in 1938. 那場戰(zhàn)爭于1938年爆發(fā)。

She broke out crying. 她突然大哭起來。

③ break up意為“（活動、會議、學(xué)期等）結(jié)束，（友誼、婚姻等）破裂”。

The party didn't break up until midnight. 晚會直到午夜才結(jié)束。
