① lofty （自以為比別人）高超的；崇高的；（自以為是的）高傲的，傲慢的（showing belief of being better than other people；consciously superior）。

② haughty高傲的，自負的，桀驁不馴的（arrogant，having or showing a high opinion of oneself）。

A haughty girl is always unpopular at school. 自負的女孩子在學校總是不受歡迎。

③ proud自豪的，驕傲的（having the quality of self-respect and showing this in one's standards of behaviour）；（貶）高傲的，自負的（derog.）（having too high an opinion of oneself or a false idea of one's own importance）。
