◎ not only…but also用來連接平行的詞或詞組，意義與用法同as well as相似，但強(qiáng)調(diào)的重點(diǎn)有所不同。not only…but also強(qiáng)調(diào)的是后者，as well as強(qiáng)調(diào)的是前者。這兩個(gè)連接詞進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換時(shí)，要注意被強(qiáng)調(diào)對象的轉(zhuǎn)移。

提示

①由于as well as所強(qiáng)調(diào)的是前者，所以as well as連接兩個(gè)詞作主語時(shí)，謂語動(dòng)詞的數(shù)要同as well as前面的主語一致。

②在“He works as well as a skilled worker. ”一句中，as well as 不是連詞，不表示“不但……而且”，這種用法中的well是副詞，意為“好”，as…as為表示平等比較的連詞，意為“像……一樣”。上句可譯為“他工作像一位熟練工人那樣好?！?
