640　strike，hit，tap和stroke

◎ strike常用作及物動詞或名詞。

① 表示“打，擊”，結構為：

strike sb. on the head （in the face…）

strike+雙賓語

strike sb./sth.+賓語補足語（形容詞或介詞短語）

He struck the boy with a stick. 他用棍子打那個孩子。

He struck her on the head. 他打了她的頭。

He struck the table a heavy blow. 他狠狠地擊了一下桌子。（雙賓語）

They struck him dead. 他們把他打死了。

② 表示“打動，迷住，給……以印象”，常用于被動語態(tài)，結構為：

be struck by sth.

It strikes sb.+that從句

How+助動詞+主語+strike you？

She was struck by his kindness. 她被他的好意打動了。

It struck me that he was a nice young man. 給我的印象是他是個好小伙子。

How does he strike you？他給你的印象如何？

③ 表示“（鐘）響，敲過”。

The clock has just struck. 鐘剛剛響過。

The clock has struck 10. 鐘敲10點了。

④ 表示“罷工”，可作動詞或名詞，搭配有：

strike for為……而罷工

on strike在罷工

go on strike罷工

The workers are striking for higher pay. 工人們?yōu)樵黾庸べY而罷工。

They have been on strike for several days. 他們罷工已有幾天了。

提示

strike和beat都可以表示“打”。strike表示急促、突然或一次性的打擊，不一定是有意的；而beat表示連續(xù)打擊，如毆打或體罰。

He struck the door angrily. 他憤怒地擊了一下門。

He beat his horse. 他一再打著馬。

⑤ hit意為“擊中，對準……來打”，著重對方的某一點。

The stone hit her on the head. 石頭擊中了她的頭部。

⑥ tap意為“輕拍/敲”。

He tapped his stick against the window. 他用手杖輕輕敲窗。

⑦ stroke n. 擊，敲；一筆，一畫；中風；報時的鐘聲，撫摸，愛撫；v. 撫摸。

The bell in the temple hammered out 101 strokes. 寺院的鐘敲了101響。

She stroked her cat absent-mindedly. 她漫不經(jīng)心地撫摸著貓。

He suffered a stroke which left him unable to speak. 他得了中風，不能說話了。
