① tired意為“疲勞的,疲倦的”,普通用語(yǔ),常作表語(yǔ),泛指因工作或緊張引起的疲憊;也可表示“厭倦的,厭煩的”,指對(duì)其他人或事物感到厭倦。
I'm tired of doing the same thing day after day. 我厭倦日復(fù)一日地做同樣的事情。
He is tired after a whole day's work. 他工作了一天后累了。
She felt tired from such a long walk. 走了這么長(zhǎng)的路她感到很疲勞。
② be tired of sth.表示“對(duì)……厭膩”,相當(dāng)于be weary of;tire of sth.也是這層意思。
I'm tired of his words. 我對(duì)他的話感到厭煩。
I tire of answering his foolish questions. 我懶得回答他愚蠢的問題。
③ tiresome和tiring含有主動(dòng)意味,意為“討厭的,使人厭倦的”,指人或事單調(diào)、乏味、缺乏活力,使人感到身體不適或精神壓抑。

④ exhausted意為“筋疲力盡的”,含有被動(dòng)意味,指由于過度的操勞,使得精力或體力消耗殆盡。
He lay down utterly exhausted. 他筋疲力盡地躺下了。
An exhausted traveller arrived at an inn at midnight. 一位疲憊不堪的旅人半夜來到了一家小旅館。
⑤ weary意為“非常疲倦的,對(duì)……感到厭倦的,對(duì)……不再有興趣的”,與tired相似,但語(yǔ)氣較重,著重指長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的腦力勞動(dòng)或體力勞動(dòng)引起的疲勞,也指對(duì)不愉快事情的不滿或煩惱。
He felt weary after a whole day's work in the field. 他在田里干了一整天,感到疲勞。
I'm weary of her constant nagging. 她嘮叨個(gè)沒完,我都聽膩了。
