A:Excuse me. I wonder if you can tell me how to find a place where I can have my shoes fixed. I'm new here.
B:Well, of course. You can always look in the yellow pages under Shoe Repair, but I think there is a good shop not far from here. Take the first street to the left and walk about three blocks. I can't remember the name of the shop but you'll run into it. It's near the police station.
A:Thanks a lot. You've been very helpful. Let's see, you said the repair shop was three blocks from the right?
B:No, it's the first street on the left, then three blocks.
A:Thanks again.
A:Excuse me. Can you help me, officer?
B:Oh, I certainly hope so.
A:I'm from Australia. Can you tell me the way to the beach?
B:Yes. You'll have to go back the way you came. Cross over to the other side of the road, and turn right. Then go allthe way down to the end of the road till you come to the round-about, and turn left. Follow that road till you come to the seafront, and that'll take you to the beach.
A:Thank you.
B:You're welcome. Be careful! Traffic in China keeps to the right.
A:OK, I'll keep that in mind. Goodbye, officer.
B:Bye! Enjoy yourselves!
A:謝謝。
A:Excuse me. Could you tell me if this is where I can catch a bus to the Brooklyn Museum?
B:Yes, but the bus comes only every half hour to 45 minutes. Besides, it doesn't go directly to Brooklyn.
A:Sounds like it takes a long time to get there.
B:It does, especially at this time of day when the traffic is heavy. Why don't you take the subway? It's much faster.
A:I just can't understand the New York subway system at all. Do you know where the nearest subway station is?
B:About a block down from here. I'm going in that direction, and I'll show you where it is.
A:Thanks a lot.
A:勞駕。
A:多謝了。
A:Excuse me.
B:Yes?
A:I've lost my way.
B:Where are you going?
A:I'm going to the airport.
B:Turn left at the next traffic light, and then turn right at the park.
A:Can you draw me a map?
B:Yes, of course.
A:Can you show me on the map where I am?
B:Oh, you are just in the Tuanjie Street.
A:I see. Thank you very much.
B:You're welcome.
A:This doesn't look like the highway, does it?
B:It sure doesn't. I hate to admit it, but I think I got us lost again.
A:Don't worry. I'll take out the map from the glove compartment and take a look... Uh, where are we?
B:Somewhere on the road to Bremen, I think.
A:Maybe we'd better find a gas station again.
B:There doesn't seem to be anything on this road except farm houses. And I don't see any signs, either.
A:What should we do?
B:I'll keep driving ahead. We would lose a lot of time if we backtracked.
A:I trust you. I certainly don't know how to get us to Bremen.
B:I have an idea. There's a restaurant up ahead. I'll get out and find someone who speaks English and ask for directions.
A:I hope you can. Neither of us speaks German!
A:別擔(dān)心。
