give in (to)接受(原本反對(duì)的事情),服從……屈服,提交(hand in)
在經(jīng)過(guò)一番勸說(shuō)之后,接受原本反對(duì)的事情。如果是互相爭(zhēng)吵的狀況,就表示屈服或投降的意思。另外,give in 也可以像 hand in 一樣表示“提交某物”。
例句:
You're going to give in eventually.
你最終肯定會(huì)接受的。

我絕對(duì)不會(huì)屈服的。
We gave in to our basic instincts.

She'll not give in to the idea that she will never get married.
