[00:07.76]On Regional Educational Inequality
[00:12.36]It is reported that there is a great disparity
[00:16.41]in the distribution of educational resources throughout China.
[00:20.57]From city to countryside,
[00:22.75]the desire to share more high-quality education
[00:26.55]has brought much attention to this inequality.
[00:30.10]There are a few reasons contributing
[00:33.58]to the regional educational inequality.
[00:36.38]First, the inequality of the economic conditions
[00:40.74]in different areas is very much pronounced.
[00:44.47]Second, the unbalanced admission system
[00:47.95]makes the situation worse.
[00:49.88]Most key schools including top
[00:52.78]universities tend to enroll more local students
[00:56.08]than students from other areas.
[00:58.57]Thus, it's more difficult for students
[01:01.12]from less developed areas to receive a better education.
[01:05.28]In my opinion,
[01:07.20]an equal educational environment
[01:09.97]calls for efforts from all sides.
[01:12.33]On the one hand,
[01:13.64]the government should allocate more funds
[01:16.25]to improve the educational resources in depressed areas.
[01:20.48]On the other hand,
[01:22.03]the disCRImination in the educational systems
[01:25.62]should be eliminated
[01:26.86]and admission policies should be executed more fairly.
