露西的一天 第9期:起床講解(8)

Lucy says she hated making her bed when she was little - when she was younger - "but now it’s become a routine." 露西說(shuō)她小時(shí)候，也就是年紀(jì)小的時(shí)候，討厭收拾床鋪，“但是現(xiàn)在這變成了例行程序。”

A routine, "routine," is something that you do - a normal way that you do something, usually on a regular basis. 例行程序(routine)的意思是你通常定期做的某些事，也是一種日常做事方式。

So, my routine when I get up may be to go to the bathroom and clean my face. Every day I do the same thing; that's my routine. 我起床之后的程序是去衛(wèi)生間，然后洗臉。每天都是同樣的事情，這就是我的例行程序。

"Sometimes," Lucy says, she's "so tired that" she sleeps "in for just a little too long." 露西說(shuō)，“有時(shí)”，她“很累”，“就會(huì)多睡一會(huì)”。

To sleep in (two words) means to sleep longer than you are supposed to. 多睡會(huì)兒(sleep in)意思是到了該起床的時(shí)間還要繼續(xù)睡。

If you are supposed to wake up at 6:30 and you sleep until 7:00 that would be sleeping in. 如果你應(yīng)該六點(diǎn)半起來(lái)，而你睡到了七點(diǎn)，這就是多睡會(huì)兒。

When she sleeps in, her bed doesn't get made, that is she doesn't make her bed. 她多睡一會(huì)，床就沒(méi)人收拾了，也就是說(shuō)，她不會(huì)收拾床鋪了。
