Lucy says she wishes she "could wear" her "tennis shoes to work." 露西說(shuō)她希望能“穿網(wǎng)球鞋去上班”。

She wishes she could is a conditional construction, "I wish I could." 她希望自己能，這是一個(gè)條件結(jié)構(gòu)，“我希望我能”。

"I wish I could wear my tennis shoes." “真希望可以穿網(wǎng)球鞋去上班”。

Tennis, "tennis," is, you probably know, a sport, 網(wǎng)球(Tennis)，你可能知道，是一項(xiàng)運(yùn)動(dòng)，

but tennis shoes are the kinds of shoes you wear to go running or to play sports or to walk around your neighborhood, 但網(wǎng)球鞋這種鞋子，你可以穿著去跑步、去做其他運(yùn)動(dòng)或在附近散步，

you would put on tennis shoes. 這樣的情況下你會(huì)穿上網(wǎng)球鞋。

Lucy can't "wear tennis shoes to work," so she has to "pick out," or select, "a pair of heels" to put on. 露西不能“穿網(wǎng)球鞋上班”，所以她不得不“挑選”，或者選擇一“雙高跟鞋”穿上。

Heels, "heels," refers here to a pair of shoes that have a little stick at the back of the shoe that makes the woman taller. 高跟鞋(heels)指的是后跟有一個(gè)小棍的鞋，可以讓女孩子看起來(lái)比較高。

We sometimes called these high heels. 我們有時(shí)叫它高跟。

So, Lucy puts on a pair of high heels, or a pair of heels, and now she's ready to go to work. 露西穿了一雙高跟鞋，現(xiàn)在她已經(jīng)準(zhǔn)備好了，可以去上班了。
