英語笑話:A Raise 加薪
An empolyee said to his boss, "I've been here for six years doing two men's work for one man's pay. Now I want a raise."
The employer replied, "Well, I can't give you a raise, but if you'll tell me who the other man is, I'll fire him."

有一個員工跟老板說：“我在這里6年了，領(lǐng)一個人的薪水，卻做兩個人的事。”
現(xiàn)在完成時可以表示過去持續(xù)到現(xiàn)在的動作或狀態(tài)，通常用for或since來引導(dǎo)所持續(xù)的時間，如：I have been here for six years.
2. Now I want a raise.
現(xiàn)在我要加薪。
3. The employer replied, "Well, I can't give you a raise, but if you'll tell me who the other man is, I'll fire him."
他的老板回答：“嗯，我不能給你加薪，但是如果你告訴我另外一個人是誰，我會開除他。”
要表示“開除某人”，最常用的詞組是"fire sb."，另外三個常用的詞組是：get rid of sb./boot sb. out/sack sb.
