When we say there is some noise--some sound--outside the house or outside of the house-- 我們說屋外或屋子外面——兩種表達(dá)都可以——有噪音——

you can say either one--we mean that someone is making a noise that is very loud. 一些聲音的時(shí)候，我們的意思是有人在制造很大的噪音。

Some of those noises are "a car door slamming." 有些噪音是“轎車關(guān)門聲”。

The verb, to slam, "slam," means that you close the door usually very quickly and you make a loud noise. 動(dòng)詞猛擊，“slam”是指你關(guān)門速度很快，發(fā)出很大的聲音。

Someone closes their car door very fast, it will make a noise; we call that "slamming the door." 有些人關(guān)車門很快，就會(huì)發(fā)出聲音;我們把這稱為“摔門”。

My mother always used to tell me when I was young, 小時(shí)候我媽媽經(jīng)常告訴我，

"Don't slam the doors," meaning when I come in and close the door, I should close it slowly and quietly. “不要摔門”，意思是我走近去關(guān)門的時(shí)候，速度要慢，聲音要小。

Of course, I was not a good boy so I would sometimes slam the door. 當(dāng)然我不是乖小孩，所以有時(shí)候會(huì)摔門。

As I was saying, an alarm goes off, that's another noise that can wake you up outside and this would be a car alarm. 就像我說的，汽車報(bào)警聲，這是另一種能夠吵醒你的聲音，是汽車的報(bào)警聲。

Here, in Los Angeles, everyone has a car alarm, and sometimes those alarms go off at night. 在洛杉磯，每個(gè)人都有汽車報(bào)警器，有時(shí)候它們會(huì)在夜晚響起來。

Another noise is gunfire; gun, "gun," fire, "fire." 另一種聲音是槍火聲;槍，“gun”,火，“fire”。

Gunfire is when someone shoots a gun and it makes a noise. 槍火聲是指某人開槍時(shí)發(fā)出的聲音。

This is, again, Los Angeles, so we sometimes have gunfire but of course, I'm joking. 還是在洛杉磯，有時(shí)候會(huì)有槍火聲，當(dāng)然了，我在開玩笑。

I say, "well, okay, not gunfire," meaning I'm just kidding--that isn't actually true, although, it is true sometimes. 我說“呃，好吧，沒有炮火聲”意思是我在開玩笑——雖然這不是真的，但有時(shí)候還真是這樣。
