當(dāng)我們想形容一件事“不著急，可以等”的時(shí)候，英文要如何表達(dá)呢?

比如我們說(shuō)先把工作處理好，其他娛樂(lè)活動(dòng)不著急，可以等一下再說(shuō)。這句話要怎么說(shuō)才地道呢?來(lái)看今天的內(nèi)容吧~

美劇原聲：
Renly Baratheon: And you look tired from the road. I told them this meeting could wait another day, but...
Petyr Baelish: But we have a Kingdom to look after. I've hoped to meet you for some time, ……

Eddard在御前會(huì)議與各位大臣見(jiàn)了面，交談中感覺(jué)每個(gè)人都有故事，誰(shuí)都不是省油的燈……

 

今日知識(shí)點(diǎn)：
劇中Renly對(duì)Eddard說(shuō) I told them this meeting could wait another day.

Something can wait…可以推遲，…可以等，不著急...

Dinner can wait. We need to figure out the schedule for tomorrow first. 晚飯可以推遲。我們首先得把明天的日程安排出來(lái)。

The movie can wait. If you're tired, we can go to a later showing. 不著急看電影。如果你很累的話，我們可以去晚一點(diǎn)的場(chǎng)次。

Renly話音未落，另一位大臣Baelish說(shuō)道 we have a Kingdom to look after.

To look after 照管，照顧

There's no way I can go away with you this weekend. I have a company to look after. 我這周末不能跟你一起出去玩。還有個(gè)公司需要我去照管。

這里 go away with somebody 的意思就是出去玩

Look after不僅可以是照顧一個(gè)人，也可以是照顧一個(gè)國(guó)家，一個(gè)家庭。

Why are you always out? Don't you have a family to look after? 你為什么老在外面? 難道你不是有家庭需要照顧嗎?
