A: I heard eating out was expensive in the U.S. Is that true? 我聽說在美國出去吃飯很貴,是真的嗎?
B: Yeah, kind of because of the taxes and the tips. 對啊,這是因為要加稅還有小費(fèi)。
A: How does tipping work? We don't do it in China. 小費(fèi)是怎么回事?我們中國沒有這個。
B: People usually leave 15%, but now it might even be 20% of the bill. 大家通常會留你這頓飯消費(fèi)的15%作為小費(fèi),不過現(xiàn)在可能會留20%。
A: Wow, that's a lot. Do you have to leave that much? 哇這好多啊。你一定要留這么多的嗎?
B: I think it's minimum otherwise, they'll think you're cheap. But one time I didn't leave a tip. 我覺得這是最起碼的,不然別人會覺得你很小氣。不過又一次我沒給小費(fèi)。
