A: Thank you for taking the time to be interviewed. Is this your first visit to America?

謝謝你抽時(shí)間來(lái)面試。這是你第一次來(lái)美國(guó)嗎？

B: No, this is my second visit. I first came to America in July 1999. That time I was here on vacation——just sightseeing, but during that trip I decided that I would come to the United States and study English.

不，這是第二次。我第一次來(lái)是在1999年7月。那次只是觀光旅游，但是在旅游的過(guò)程中我下定決心一定要來(lái)美國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)。

A: How long will you be here for this time?

你這次來(lái)要呆多久？

B: I arrived in January and I’ll stay until December, 2002.

我今年1月份來(lái)的，將于2002年12月離開(kāi)。

A: Are you enjoying your stay here?

你喜歡呆在這里嗎？

B: Yes and no. Some things are much better than I expected but other things are not so good. I enjoy my lessons very much but I sometimes find it difficult to practice my oral English. American people are very kind but it seems they don’t have time to talk with people from abroad.

喜歡也不喜歡。有些事情比我想象中的要好，但有些卻不盡人意。我很喜歡所上的課程，但是有時(shí)候說(shuō)英語(yǔ)有困難。美國(guó)人很友好，但是看來(lái)他們沒(méi)有時(shí)間和一個(gè)外國(guó)人講英語(yǔ)。

A: Are you learning English for any particular reason?

你學(xué)英語(yǔ)有沒(méi)有什么特別的原因？

B: Yes. At home in China I work in advertising and many of the words we use are English, so I want to understand English better because that will help my job.

有。在中國(guó)我是做廣告的，有很多情況下要用到英語(yǔ)，所以我想提高英語(yǔ)水平，把工作做得更好。

A: Did you learn English at home in China before you came to study English here?

你來(lái)這里之前在中國(guó)學(xué)過(guò)英語(yǔ)嗎？

B: Sure. When I was a student in China I studied English for six years. But that was a long time ago and in the meantime I forgot all my grammar. So before I came to America I went to English classes for two hours each week for six months. Now I study 20 hours each week and sometimes I have an extra lesson.

學(xué)過(guò)。我在中國(guó)上學(xué)的時(shí)候?qū)W了6年英語(yǔ)。但那是很久以前的事了，語(yǔ)法也早就全忘光了。在來(lái)美國(guó)之前我每周去上兩個(gè)小時(shí)的英語(yǔ)課，一共上了半年?，F(xiàn)在我每周學(xué)20個(gè)小時(shí)的英語(yǔ)，有時(shí)候還會(huì)更多。

A: What do you miss most about China while you are here in America?

你身在美國(guó)，最想念中國(guó)的什么？

B: I miss real Chinese food. I miss my mother’s cooking and of course I miss my whole family very much.

我懷念正宗的中國(guó)菜。我懷念我媽媽做的飯。當(dāng)然了，我非常想念我的家人。
