第三小題：不到關(guān)鍵時刻不要亮出你的絕招。 your ace in the hole the critical moment. 參考答案：Don't， play， until。完整句子為：Don't play your ace in the hole until the critical moment. 正確完成這個句子掌握2個要點。

第一、“不到關(guān)鍵時刻不要亮出你的絕招。”也就是說直到關(guān)鍵時刻才亮出絕招。“直到...才”的短語是not...until...例如：Not until we lose health do we know its value.我們直到失去健康才知道健康的價值。Not until his friend offered to help could he do it.他的朋友幫助他，他才有辦法做那事。

上面的2個例句都是倒裝句。如果是要對含有not...until...這個短語的句子進行倒裝，分為二個步驟。第一步驟是將“not untill”提到句首，主句的助動詞或者是情態(tài)動詞等省略。第二步驟是從句的助動詞，情態(tài)動詞等提到從句的句首。例如第一句：“Not until we lose health do we know it's value.”的正常語序是“We don't lose health until we know its value.”主句是we don't lose health，從句是until we know it's value。那么我們把not until這2個詞語提出來放到句子的開頭，即：Not until，然后把主句中的助動詞do刪除，再接上主句we lose health。接下來是個難點了，從句we know it's value中沒有助動詞或者是情態(tài)動詞等，那么我們知道就加上一個助動詞，do，最后接上從句we know it's value. 像第二個例句中Not until his friend offered to help could he do it.中的從句有助動詞could，那么就把它放到從句的句首。

有的朋友在the critical moment前用介詞at，at the critical moment。整個句子句法是沒錯，但是句子意思和我們要表達的意思恰好相反。Don't play your ace in the hole at the critical moment. 在關(guān)鍵時刻不要用絕招。句子要表達的意思是在關(guān)鍵時刻用絕招。

第二、掌握“亮出絕招”的短語。“亮出絕招”也就是說使出“錦囊妙計”，“打出最后一張王牌”。由于ace in the hole來源于玩牌的游戲，我們說“打牌”是“play cards”，“ace”也紙牌中最大的一張牌的意思，所以這個“使出”“打出”用“play”，play one's ace in the hole。例如：In the end, he, a lawyer, played his ace in the hole—— an unknown eyewitness at court that he won this case for his friend. 他最后在法庭上使出一張王牌——一個不為人知的目擊者，幫他朋友打贏了這場官司。
