（1）目的狀語從句常見的引導詞
目的狀語從句常見引導詞有so that和in order that。從句中常含有情態(tài)動詞will/would或can/could。
例句
a. I turned off the TV so that my roommate could study in peace and quiet.
我關掉了電視，好讓我的室友能安靜地學習。
b. When I was a child, I would take a flashlight（手電筒） to bed with me so that I could read comic books without my parents’ knowing about it.
c. We climbed high so that we could get a better view.
d. They carved the words on the stone so that / in order that the future generation would remember what they had done.
e. He has recently devoted much time to writing books on the subject so that the coming generation can learn the martial arts.
（2）結果狀語從句常見的連接詞
結果狀語從句常見的連接詞有so…that和such…that。從句中一般不帶情態(tài)動詞，且從句都要放在主句之后。如：
a. Sensible Sam: I saw you pushing your bicycle to work this afternoon. Foolish Fred: Yes, I was so late that I didn’t have time to get on it.
b. The food is so bad in the school cafeteria that flies go there to lose weight. 我們學校食堂飯菜質量太差，連蒼蠅都去那兒減肥。
注意：不要受漢語思維的影響，而把這里的so改成very或too。這類題型常見于考試改錯題。比如我們不能說：
The food is too/very bad in the school cafeteria that flies go there to lose weight.*
（3）注意句中such和so的用法區(qū)別（重點掌握）
1）such為形容詞，修飾名詞或名詞短語，表示“這樣的……”，所修飾的名詞或名詞短語可以是單數意義、復數意義或不可數。如：
a. He is such a good teacher that everyone likes him.
b. He got such heavy boxes that he couldn’t carry them by himself.
c. It was such nice weather that we went to the beach.
（It was so nice weather that we went to the beach.*）
d. The weather was so nice that we went to the beach.
2）so為副詞，不能直接修飾名詞，而是修飾形容詞或副詞。如：
a. He is so good a teacher that everyone likes him.
b. The teacher is so good that everyone likes him.
c. The boy ran so fast that he caught the early bus.
3）so可與many, much, few以及l(fā)ittle搭配，such不可以，如：
a. I made so many mistakes that I failed the exam.
b. He has so few friends that he is always lonely.
c. He lost so much money that he didn’t dare to go home.
d. I had so little trouble with the test that I left half an hour early.
