保險對確保國際貿(mào)易中貨物的安全發(fā)揮著重要作用。保險公司承保的貨運(yùn)保險涵蓋從一個國家到另一個國家運(yùn)輸過程中所產(chǎn)生的損失。貨運(yùn)保險單實質(zhì)上是一份承保人和被保險人之間的合同，它規(guī)定了保費(fèi)、投?；驔]有投保的險種、理賠的程序以及所有其他可適用的條款。

1．Generally speaking, we take out insurance on goods like this against WPA. No other special risks will be covered unless required by the customer.

一般說來，我們對這種貨物只保水漬險。其他特別險除非客戶要求否則是不保的。

2．If coverage against other additional risks is demanded, all the premium thus arising from it will be borne by the buyer.

如果要求投保其他附加險，由此產(chǎn)生的保險費(fèi)將由買方承擔(dān)。

3．We are also in a position to insure the shipment against any additional risks if you desire so.

如果你們要求的話，我們也可以為貨物投保任何附加險。

4．We insure the goods against the usual risks and in the present case FPA. Should broader coverage be required, the extra premium is for the buyer's account.

9．Special additional risks include War Risk, Strikes Risk, Failure to Delivery Risk, etc, among which War Risk and Strikes Risk are more common.

10．General additional risks include TPND, Fresh Water Rain Damage, Risk of Shortage, etc.they cannot be covered independently and should go with FPA or WPA and are included in All Risks coverage.

一般附加險包括偷竊提不著貨險，淡水雨淋險，短量險等，它們不能單獨(dú)投保，只能在平安險或水漬險的基礎(chǔ)上加保，但含在一切險之內(nèi)。

nip in the bud是指“防微杜漸，把……消滅于萌芽狀態(tài)”的意思。其中nip是指“剪斷，掐斷”。Bud則是“蓓蕾，花苞”的意思。nip in the bud意為蓓蕾還未成熟就給采摘下來，哪兒還有機(jī)會開花呢？更不要說結(jié)果了。因此“含苞欲放就被攀折（nip in the bud）”就是指“事情在萌芽階段就被扼殺”。

承保范圍

A：FPA insurance doesn't cover losses on consumer goods.

平安險不包括消費(fèi)品的各種損失。

B：I don't think that the WPA insurance covers more risks than the FPA.

我認(rèn)為水漬險承保的范圍并不比平安險承保的范圍寬。

An All Risks insurance covers every sort of hazard, doesn't it?

hold one's horses別著慌，沉住氣

hold one's horses是一條常用的俚語。有人說此語源于賽馬比賽，意思是“牽住馬以穩(wěn)定情緒”；還有認(rèn)為此語源于牽馬過河遇急流時牽馬人所采取的謹(jǐn)慎行動。無論哪種解釋都有“不要急于行動”、“沉住氣”或“穩(wěn)住神”之意。比如：Hold your horses even when you are very angry.（即使你很生氣，也一定要沉住氣。）
