數(shù)詞 正誤速辨

1　老太太買了兩打雞蛋。

誤 　The old lady bought two dozens eggs.

正 　The old lady bought two dozen eggs.

評(píng) 　dozen前有具體數(shù)詞或some, several, many修飾時(shí)，要用單數(shù)形式。

2　三分之一加三分之二等于一。

誤 　One third plus two third equals one.

正 　One third plus two thirds equals one.

評(píng) 　英語(yǔ)中用基數(shù)詞表示分子，用序數(shù)詞表示分母。當(dāng)分子為二或二以上的基數(shù)詞時(shí)，分母要用復(fù)數(shù)形式。

3　我昨天買了一本詞典。

誤 　I bought one dictionary yesterday.

正 　I bought a dictionary yesterday.

評(píng) 　a/an強(qiáng)調(diào)類別，而one強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量。從句意看，并非強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量，故用冠詞a。

4　我們已經(jīng)學(xué)完了前3課。

誤 　We have studied the three first lessons.

正 　We have studied the first three lessons.

評(píng) 　序數(shù)詞應(yīng)放在基數(shù)詞前。

5　這些孩子是在20世紀(jì)末出生的。

誤 　These children were born at the end of the twenty century .

誤 　These children were born at the end of twentieth century .

正 　These children were born at the end of the twentieth century .

6　我們將在12點(diǎn)10分吃午飯。

誤 　We'll have lunch at ten past twelve o'clock .

正 　We'll have lunch at ten past twelve .

評(píng) 　o'clock只用于整點(diǎn)，“幾點(diǎn)過(guò)幾分”不可用o'clock。

7　這是一篇2 000字的文章。

誤 　It is a 2,000-words article.

正 　It is a 2,000-word article.

評(píng) 　在“數(shù)詞+連字符+名詞”構(gòu)成的復(fù)合形容詞中，名詞要用單數(shù)形式。

8　她花了一個(gè)半小時(shí)寫(xiě)那封信。

誤 　She spent one and a half hour writing the letter.

正 　She spent one and a half hours writing the letter.

評(píng) 　“一個(gè)半小時(shí)”要說(shuō)one and a half hours，要用復(fù)數(shù)形式。再如：one and a half months （一個(gè)半月），one and a half miles （一英里半）。

9　五月是一年中的第五個(gè)月。

誤 　May is the fiveth month of the year.

正 　May is the fifth month of the year.

10　這所學(xué)校大約有800名學(xué)生。

誤 　There are about eight hundreds students in the school.

正 　There are about eight hundred students in the school.

11　我7點(diǎn)55分離開(kāi)家的。

誤 　I left home at fifty five past seven .

正 　I left home at five to eight .

評(píng) 　分鐘數(shù)（在半小時(shí)以內(nèi)含半小時(shí)）+past+小時(shí)，表示幾點(diǎn)過(guò)幾分；半小時(shí)以上則用to，結(jié)構(gòu)為：到下一個(gè)小時(shí)所差分鐘數(shù)+to+下一個(gè)小時(shí)。

12　你有幾支鋼筆？—我有3支鋼筆。

誤 　How many pens do you have?—I have three pens .

正 　How many pens do you have?—I have three .

評(píng) 　回答how many提問(wèn)的句子時(shí)，通常要省略數(shù)詞后重復(fù)的詞。

13　他父親38歲。

誤 　His father is thirty eight .

正 　His father is thirty-eight .

評(píng) 　表示“幾十幾”時(shí)，十位數(shù)和個(gè)位數(shù)中間要加連字符。但表示時(shí)間的“幾點(diǎn)幾分”，中間不用連字符。

14　我曾經(jīng)去過(guò)那兒一兩次。

正 　I've been there one time or two times .（美式英語(yǔ) ）

正 　I've been there once or twice .

評(píng) 　在美式英語(yǔ)中，one time和two times可表示“一次”和“兩次”，等于once和twice。

15　我們的工作已完成一半。

誤 　Our half work is done.

正 　Half our work is done.

評(píng) 　half our work是half of our work的省略式。

16　“hut”一詞中有一個(gè)“h”，一個(gè)“u”和一個(gè)“t”。

誤 　There is a “h”, an “u” and a “t” in the word “hut”.

正 　There is an “h”, a “u” and a “t” in the word “hut”.

評(píng) 　h發(fā)音為［′e?t?］，為元音音素開(kāi)頭，故用an。u發(fā)音為［ju?］，為輔音音素開(kāi)頭，故用a。
