186　next week和the next week能否換用

1　next 意為“下……，緊接的”，next+時間名詞 是以現(xiàn)在為起點，指將來的時間，謂語動詞用一般將來時，這時，next 前不可加the或其他介詞。next 也可單獨用作副詞。

I'll go there next week . 我下周將去那里。

He will return home next Sunday . 他下星期天將要回家來。

I'll go for a holiday next summer . 明年夏天我將去度假。

We'll have a match next month . 下個月我們將進行一場比賽。

When shall we meet next ? 下次我們什么時候見面？

2　the next+時間名詞 多以過去為起點，表示過去的“第二（周，天，月，年），下一個……”，謂語動詞用一般過去時或過去將來時。但本結構也可用于將來時，前面也可加介詞，也可省去the。

The next week they left together. 第二個星期他們就一起離開了。

He went to see her the next Sunday . 第二個星期天他去看了她。

She came again the next morning . 第二天早晨她又來了。

He said he would go on a holiday the next month . 他說他下個月將去度假。

I arrived at the town on Saturday and met him the next week/next week/in the next week . 我于周六抵達那座小城，并在接下來的一周同他見了面。

I hope to arrive at the town on Saturday and meet him next week/the next week/in the next week . 我希望周六抵達那座小城，下周同他見面。

提示

the next week, the next month也可說成the following week, the following month。

He returned home the following week . 第二個星期他回家來了。

3　next 同time, train, bus, turning等連用，表示“下一次／班／個。但要注意，next time（下一次）前不用the，但the next train（下一趟車），the next bus（下一班車），the next turning（下一個拐彎）等前要加the 。

I shall do better next time . 我下次將做得更好。

Don't miss the next train . 不要誤了下一趟火車。

Take the next turning to the right. 到下一個拐彎處往右走。

4　live/be next door to 表示“?。诟舯凇保琻ext 前不用the。

He is next door to the Browns. 他在布朗一家的隔壁。

She lives next door to me.（正）她住在我的隔壁。

She lives the next door to me. （誤）
