289　habit和custom

1　habit 指長時期逐漸養(yǎng)成的、一時不易改變的“個人的”習慣，如愛散步的習慣、飲茶的習慣等，結(jié)構(gòu)為：

form the habit of doing sth.

have the habit of doing sth.

fall into good/ bad habits 養(yǎng)成好／壞習慣

He has the habit of going for a walk after supper. 他有晚飯后散步的習慣。

It is a bad habit . 這是一種壞習慣。

He smokes out of habit , not for pleasure. 他吸煙是出于習慣，不是為了取樂。

The man has formed the habit of smoking. （正）那人養(yǎng)成了抽煙的習慣 。

The man has formed the habit to smoke. （誤） （habit后不可跟不定式 ）

2　custom 指某個“國家、社會、社會群體”經(jīng)過一個較長時間過程形成的風俗或習慣，有時也可指個人習慣，且不像habit 那樣容易丟掉，結(jié)構(gòu)為：

It is one's custom to do sth.

It has become the custom for sb. to do sth.

It is their custom to eat dumplings on New Year's Day. 新年吃餃子是他們的風俗。

My father makes it a custom to take a nap after lunch. 我父親養(yǎng)成了午飯后小睡的習慣。
