495　turn和change

1　turn 用作及物動詞，表示“翻轉(zhuǎn)，轉(zhuǎn)動，使變得”。

He is turning the pages of a book. 他在翻一本書。

She turned her head and saw the sun rising. 她轉(zhuǎn)過頭去，看見太陽正在升起。

The cold weather has turned the leaves red. 寒冷的天氣使樹葉變紅了。

2　turn 用作不及物動詞，表示“轉(zhuǎn)動，拐彎，轉(zhuǎn)身”。

The wheel is turning slowly. 車輪轉(zhuǎn)得慢。

Turn left at the second crossing, and you'll see the bookstore. 在第二個(gè)十字路口向左拐，你就會看到書店了。

She turned and walked towards the river. 她轉(zhuǎn)過身，向河邊走去。

3　turn 用作連系動詞，表示“變得，變成”，后跟形容詞或名詞。

On hearing the news, she turned pale. 聽到這個(gè)消息，她臉都變白了。

The weather has turned much colder. 天氣變得冷多了。

The leaves are turning yellow. 樹葉在變黃。

Her hair has turned grey. 她的頭發(fā)已花白了。

He has turned writer. 他已當(dāng)作家了。

4　短語比較：

Turn on the light, please. 請開燈。

Turn up the radio. 把收音機(jī)的聲音調(diào)大一點(diǎn)。

Can you turn the radio down a little? 你能把收音機(jī)開小一點(diǎn)嗎？

Please turn off the light. 請把燈關(guān)掉。

提示

“打開或關(guān)閉水龍頭”要用turn on the faucet和turn off the faucet，不用switch on或switch off。

5　turn into 表示“變成，譯成”。

Water may turn into ice. 水能變成冰。

Please turn this sentence into English. 請把這個(gè)句子譯成英語。

6　turn to sb./sth. 表示“翻到，轉(zhuǎn)向”。

Please turn to page twenty. 請翻到第20頁。

I shall turn to her for advice. 我將征求她的意見。

7　turn 也可用作名詞，常用結(jié)構(gòu)為：

It be one's turn (to do sth.) 該輪到

do sth. by turns 輪流做某事

do sth. in turn 逐個(gè)地做某事

take a sudden turn to/ on the right/ left 突然向右／左轉(zhuǎn)

It is her turn to clean the blackboard. 該輪到她擦黑板了。

I think it should be your turn to do the cleaning. 我認(rèn)為該輪到你做掃除了。

Whose turn is it to sing a song? 該輪到誰唱歌了？

We took turns to drive the car. 我們輪著開車。

They drove the car by turns . 他們輪流駕車。

I shall talk with you in turn . 我將一個(gè)一個(gè)地同你們談話。

He took a sudden turn to the right. 他突然向右轉(zhuǎn)去。

提示

close也可表示“關(guān)”，open也可表示“開”，但指的是關(guān)閉、打開門、窗、書、柜等物品，不可用于電器、收音機(jī)等。

She closed the windows at 10. 她10點(diǎn)鐘把窗戶關(guān)上了。

8　turn 表示“改變”時(shí)，著重位置、方向、形式等非本質(zhì)的改變，而change 則是全面的改變。

He turned the house into a shop. 他把房子改成了商店。

The town has changed greatly. 那座小鎮(zhèn)發(fā)生了巨大變化。

It made her change her mind. 這使她改變了主意。
