霍金追悼會(huì)邀請(qǐng)未來人類

Members of the public have been invited to apply for tickets to attend a celebration of Professor Stephen Hawking's life at a memorial service in Westminster Abbey on June 15, with visitors from the future welcome to apply.

史蒂芬·霍金教授的追悼會(huì)將于6月15日在威斯敏斯特大教堂舉行，主辦方邀請(qǐng)公眾，也歡迎那些來自未來的人們申請(qǐng)入場(chǎng)門票以參與對(duì)霍金生命的禮贊。

Applicants need to fill in a form online and state their date of birth. The application allows people born more than 20 years into the future to come.

申請(qǐng)人需在網(wǎng)上填寫一份表格，說明自己的出生日期。該申請(qǐng)表允許未來20年以后出生的人參與其中。

Up to now, over 10,000 people from more than 50 countries have applied for tickets.

截至目前，來自全球50多個(gè)國(guó)家逾1萬民眾已申請(qǐng)了門票。

 

Hawking once held a "time traveler party" back in 2009, to see if any would turn up if he posted the invite after the party, but no one turned up at that time.

A legendary figure in the modern history of physics, Hawking, who died on March 14 this year, is known for his work with black holes and relativity.

現(xiàn)代物理學(xué)史上的傳奇人物霍金于今年3月14日去世，他以黑洞和相對(duì)論方面的研究聞名。

He broke new ground on the basic laws which govern the universe, including the revelation that black holes have a temperature and produce radiation, now known as Hawking radiation.
