An Englishman, a Canadian, and an American prided themselves on the speed of the trains in their countries. The first to speak was the Englishman.
   “One day,” he said, “I went to Edinburgh by the Flying Scotsman, （火車名）and as I looked out of the window at the telegraph poles, they seemed to form a fence. So great was the speed of the train. Can you believe that?!”
    The next to speak was the Canadian.
   “One day,” he said, “I went from Montreal to Vancouver by the transcontinental express(橫穿大陸的特快列車).
