世界上最矮的人近日過世

Pingping, who was 29 inches tall, was filming a television programme in Italy when he developed chest problems. 

當(dāng)29英寸高的平平在意大利拍攝電視紀(jì)錄片的時(shí)候，他發(fā)現(xiàn)自己換上了胸部疾病。

 

The Chinese-born man, who became a record-holder in March 2008, was taken to hospital in Rome for treatment but passed away on Saturday. It is understood he died of heart complications. 

這位中國(guó)出生的男子在2008年三月被評(píng)為全世界最矮的人。他發(fā)病后被帶往羅馬的醫(yī)院治療，后于周六去世。他死于心臟并發(fā)癥。

 

Craig Glenday, Guinness World Records editor-in-chief and the man who measured Pingping in Inner Mongolia to confirm his status as the world's smallest man, paid tribute to him.

吉尼斯世界紀(jì)錄總編、同時(shí)也是當(dāng)時(shí)到內(nèi)蒙古測(cè)量平平身高、認(rèn)定他是全球最矮的Craig Glenday先生為他致辭。
 

 

He said: ''From the moment I laid eyes on him I knew he was someone special - he had such a cheeky smile and mischievous personality, you couldn't help but be charmed by him. 

他說：“當(dāng)我一看到他，我就知道他有一些特別的地方——他的笑容很搞怪、性格也很逗趣，你不能不被他吸引。”
 

''He brightened up the lives of everyone he met, and was an inspiration to anyone considered different or unusual.'' 

“他點(diǎn)亮了每一個(gè)遇到他的人的生活，對(duì)于那些不尋常的人來說他也是一種激勵(lì)。”
 

Pingping, who was born with a form of primordial dwarfism, had been accompanied by his brother-in-law on the trip to Europe to film records show Lo Show Dei Record. His successor will be announced at a later date, Guinness World Records said. 

平平有先天的侏儒癥，他由他的姐夫陪伴前往歐洲拍攝紀(jì)錄片。吉尼斯世界紀(jì)錄的工作人員稱，他的繼任者將會(huì)稍后宣布。
