A case of coronavirus has been confirmed in London, and there are also fears the virus may have spread to Bali after a Chinese traveller who visited the island was diagnosed with it.

倫敦已確診一例冠狀病毒感染病例，在一名前往巴厘島的中國游客被診斷出患有冠狀病毒后，也有人擔心病毒可能已經傳播到巴厘島。

The London case, believed to be a Chinese national, contracted the virus in China and was confirmed to have it on Wednesday evening (local time).

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to nine.

"This virus was passed on in China and the patient has now been transferred to a specialist NHS centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ in London," Chris Whitty, chief medical officer for England said, according to the Financial Times.

The news comes after a UK "super-spreader" was said to have infected at least 11 people in three countries with the virus.

The British businessman was exposed at a sales event in Singapore. He then visited a French ski resort with his family before flying back to the UK from Geneva.

Showing no symptoms and completely unaware he had the virus, he only contacted health officials after hearing someone else at the conference had contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, there are now fears the virus - which has been officially named COVID-19 - has also spread to Bali. That comes after the Chinese government announced a Chinese tourist flying from Wuhan tested positive eight days after arriving back home from the Indonesian island.

The Bali Health Agency said it was investigating the case and working to establish the travel history and activities of the patient, the Jakarta Post reported.

"We don't know yet where exactly he was infected," a spokesperson from the agency said, according to the Jakarta Post. "We don't know yet whether he was infected with the coronavirus before he went to Bali. There is a possibility that he got the virus when he returned to China."

There have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Indonesia so far, though two Chinese patients are currently being treated in an isolation room awaiting test results.

There have been 30 other suspected cases in the country, though all have come back negative, according to the Jakarta Post.

More than 200 Indonesian citizens were evacuated from Wuhan earlier this month and remain in quarantine. Officials say none of them have shown signs of the virus.

So far, there have been no confirmed cases in New Zealand, though two Kiwis on a cruise ship in Japan have been infected.
