變異株同時(shí)傳播，可能引發(fā)一場(chǎng)"疫情海嘯"

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), cautioned on Wednesday that the more transmissible Omicron, along with the currently circulating Delta variants, might lead to "a tsunami of cases".

12月29日，世界衛(wèi)生組織總干事譚德塞在新聞發(fā)布會(huì)上警告稱，奧密克戎變異株的傳播性更強(qiáng)，它與德?tīng)査儺愔晖瑫r(shí)傳播，可能引發(fā)一場(chǎng)"疫情海嘯"。

He said at a press briefing that "this will put immense pressure on exhausted health workers and health systems on the brink of collapse and again disrupt lives and livelihoods," citing the pressure as not only new COVID-19 patients requiring hospitalization but also a large number of health workers getting sick themselves.
譚德塞表示，"這將給本已疲憊的醫(yī)療工作者和處于崩潰邊緣的衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)帶來(lái)巨大壓力，并再次擾亂人們的生活和生計(jì)。" 他指出，壓力不僅來(lái)自需要入院治療的新確診的新冠患者，還來(lái)自大量生病的醫(yī)療工作者。
