It was a sad day yesterday Gretel returned to Austria ;昨天是個(gè)傷心的日子. 格萊托回奧地利了.
The family wanted to see her off,so Mr Clark drove them all to London Airport. ;全家人都想去送她, 所以克拉克先生驅(qū)車把 他們都送到倫敦機(jī)場(chǎng).
Gretel didn't have much baggage. ;格萊托沒多少行李.
She was afraid of having to pay excess, ;她怕要付行李超重費(fèi),
so she had already sent a lot of things home by train. ;所以先用火車 托運(yùn)不少東西回家.
She checked in at Terminal 2 and had her baggage weighed. ;格萊托在2號(hào)臺(tái)辦登機(jī) 手續(xù),稱了行李,
It was 20 kilos exactly. ;剛好20公斤.
Then she was given her embarkation card. ;接著她拿到登機(jī)卡.
"I've still got plenty of time,"Gretel said. ;"我還有很多時(shí)間," 格萊托說,
"Why don't we go up to the cafeteria instead of standing here?" ;"我們別站在這兒, 去餐廳好嗎?"
They all went upstairs and had some coffee. Everyone was silent. ;他們都到樓上去喝咖啡. 大家都不說話.
"Cheer up!"Mr Clark said."It's not the end of the world.Got all your presents,Gretel?" ;"高興些,"克拉克先生說, "世界又沒到盡頭. 格萊托,禮品備齊了嗎?"

Then the announcement came over the loudspeakers: ;一會(huì)兒廣播里播出通知:
"Will passengers travelling to Vienna on Flight AU 285 ;"乘坐AU285號(hào)航班去維 也納的乘客
kindly make their way to the Departure Lounge please." ;請(qǐng)進(jìn)候機(jī)室."
Mother and Sue kissed Gretel goodbye. ;母親和蘇與格萊托 親吻道別.
Mr Clark and Sandy shook her hand warmly. ;克拉克先生和桑迪與她 熱情握手.
Mother and Sue had tears in their eyes-- and so did Mr Clark and Sandy, ;母親和蘇眼里噙著淚水 --克拉克先生和桑迪也 一樣,
