如： I wouldn't like to have anything to do with a law-down dirty shame like her.

good-time charlie 漢語中“樂天派”可以用optimistic來表示，也可以用good-humored。但是上述表達(dá)法缺乏口語色彩，而用good-time Charlie比較合適。

jinx 通常指不吉利的人或物。其實(shí)“掃帚星”指的是“彗星”。在英語中沒有對(duì)應(yīng)的比喻義的翻譯，不能譯為“comet”，應(yīng)該是jinx。

Wet behind the ears如果直譯: 耳朵背后是潮的。它可能來自這樣的說法: 小馬、小牛剛生下來的時(shí)候全身濕漉漉的;別的地方很快會(huì)干，但是耳朵背后卻還是濕的。所以說某人耳朵背后是潮的，是把這人比作剛生下不久的嬰兒了。換句話說就是他簡直像新生兒一般幼稚無知。
