The term "get an inbox" is derived from the expression "get a room." When couples constantly leave romantic, mushy or suggestive messages on each other's Facebook wall for everyone else to see, someone else may tell them to "get an inbox already" and carry on in private.

Get an inbox這個說法是由短語get a room衍生而來的（get a room什么意思我們稍后再說）。假設你社交網(wǎng)站的朋友圈里有兩人是一對兒，他們成天在對方的微博、朋友圈里留下各種浪漫、肉麻，或者頗具暗示意味的信息，而這些留言圈里的朋友都能看到。于是，有人就會給他們留言說“你們還是私聊吧”，這樣在私密的空間里，他們就可以繼續(xù)肉麻聊天了。
