母親節(jié)英語詩歌二則

今天是母親節(jié)，母親節(jié)最早起源于古希臘，是每年的一月八日，在這一天古希臘人向希臘眾神之母希布莉致敬，后來，在17世紀中葉，母親節(jié)流傳到英國，英國人把封齋期的第四個星期天作為母親節(jié)。艾思口語老師從文獻了解到，在這一天里，出門在外的年輕人將回到家中，給他們的母親帶上一些小禮物。再后來，安娜在美國的奔走呼吁下建立了現(xiàn)代意義的母親節(jié)，在這一天，所有的孩子都向母親表達深深地愛意。

母親節(jié)是在中國港澳臺地區(qū)流行起來之后才進入大陸的，名貴的珠寶，象征母愛的康乃馨，特制的愛心甜點，精致的手工賀卡等，成為人們向母親敬獻愛意的禮物。從80年代起，母親節(jié)才在內地繁榮興盛起來。特別從1988年開始，中國南方的廣州等一些城市開始舉辦母親節(jié)的慶祝活動，并把評選“好母親”作為內容之一。其實在母親眼里，愛不是傳統(tǒng)意義上的珠寶翡翠，而是噓寒問暖的體貼之心，十月懷胎，一朝分娩，含辛茹苦，養(yǎng)育成人，母親之愛，我們該怎么報答呢?

母親的愛

There is no love, like a mother's love,

no stronger bond on earth...

like the precious bond that comes from God,

to a mother, when she gives birth.

A mother's love is forever strong,

never changing for all time...

and when her children need her most,

a mother's love will shine.

God bless these special mothers,

for all the tears and heartache,

and for the special work they've done.

When her days on earth are over,

a mother's love lives on...

through many generations,

with God's blessings on each one.

Be thankful for our mothers,

for they love with a higher love...
