泰戈?duì)枴缎略录返?3期:召喚 THE RECALL

《新月集》 (The Crescent Moon，1903)是印度詩(shī)人、作家泰戈?duì)杽?chuàng)作的詩(shī)集，主要譯自1903年出版的孟加拉文詩(shī)集《兒童集》，也有的是用英文直接創(chuàng)作的。 詩(shī)集里著力描繪的是一個(gè)個(gè)天真可愛(ài)的兒童。詩(shī)人塑造了一批神形兼?zhèn)洹㈧陟陂W光的天使般的兒童藝術(shù)形象。

在《新月集》中，詩(shī)人書寫了孩子純凈的心靈。孩子們喜歡玩簡(jiǎn)單的小游戲，且樂(lè)此不疲。“他們用沙子建造房屋，他們用空貝殼游戲。”“孩子，你多么快樂(lè)，整個(gè)早晨坐在塵土里，玩著一根折斷的小樹枝。”孩子們有著奇妙的想象，“如果我鬧著玩兒，變成一朵金香木花，長(zhǎng)在那樹的高枝上，在風(fēng)中笑得搖搖擺擺，在新生嫩葉上跳舞，媽媽，你認(rèn)得出是我嗎?”此外，《新月集》也描寫了孩子和母親的感情。“他知道慈母心中小小一角就可以容納無(wú)窮的歡樂(lè)，被母親逮住了緊抱在她慈愛(ài)的雙臂里，遠(yuǎn)比自由甜蜜。”在詩(shī)人的筆下，詩(shī)中的母親帶有一種圣潔的光輝。

33 召喚 THE RECALL

THE night was dark when she went away, and they slept.

她走的時(shí)候，夜間黑漆漆的，他們都睡了。

The night is dark now, and I call for her, "Come back, my darling; the world is asleep; and no one would know, if you came for a moment while stars are gazing at stars."

現(xiàn)在，夜間也是黑漆漆的，我喚她道：“回來(lái)，我的寶貝;世界都在沉睡，當(dāng)星星互相凝視的時(shí)候，你來(lái)一會(huì)兒是沒(méi)有人會(huì)知道的。”

She went away when the trees were in bud and the spring was young.

她走的時(shí)候，樹木正在萌芽，春光剛剛來(lái)到。

Now the flowers are in high bloom and I call, "Come back, my darling. The children gather and scatter flowers in reckless sport. And if you come and take one little blossom no one will miss it."

現(xiàn)在花已盛開，我喚道：“回來(lái)，我的寶貝。孩子們漫不經(jīng)心地在游戲，把花聚在一起，又把它們散開。你如走來(lái)，拿一朵小花去，沒(méi)有人會(huì)發(fā)覺(jué)的。”

Those that used to play are playing still, so spendthrift is life.

常常在游戲的那些人，仍然還在那里游戲，生命總是如此地浪費(fèi)。

I listen to their chatter and call, "Come back, my darling, for mother's heart is full to the brim with love, and if you come to snatch only one little kiss from her no one will grudge it."

我靜聽他們的空談，便喚道：“回來(lái)，我的寶貝，媽媽的心里充滿著愛(ài)，你如走來(lái)，僅僅從她那里接一個(gè)小小的吻，沒(méi)有人會(huì)妒忌的。”
