My thoughts waft like gossemer light;
You’ll go off as willow down flies.
In vain we gaze at each other with tearful eyes.
Thousands of willow twigs hang low by riverside,
But none of them can stop your orchid boat on the tide.
Past setting sun wild geese in flight,
On mist-veiled isle grass lost to sight,
It looks like a boundless ocean of grief and sorrow.
But now do not think of what I shall do tomorrow!
Alas! how can I pass this endless lonely night.
