道永遠(yuǎn)是順任自然而無(wú)所作為的,卻又沒(méi)有什么事情不是它所作為的。侯王如果能按照“道”的原則為政治民,萬(wàn)事萬(wàn)物就會(huì)自我化育、自生自滅而得以充分發(fā)展。自生自長(zhǎng)而產(chǎn)生貪欲時(shí),我就要用“道”來(lái)鎮(zhèn)住它。用“道”的真樸來(lái)鎮(zhèn)服它,就不會(huì)產(chǎn)生貪欲之心了,萬(wàn)事萬(wàn)物沒(méi)有貪欲之心了,天下便自然而然達(dá)到穩(wěn)定、安寧。
第三十七章
道常無(wú)為,而無(wú)不為。
侯王若能守之,萬(wàn)物將自化。
化而欲作,吾將鎮(zhèn)之以無(wú)名之樸。
無(wú)名之樸,夫亦將無(wú)欲。
不欲以靜,天下將自定。
Chapter 37
The Principe of the universe follows natural laws, without trying to “do” anything. As it follows natural laws, nothing is neglected.
If a ruler can follow this principle, then all the things in his nation will take place in a natural way.
During the process, if selfishness appears, then the simplicity that has no name must be used to dissolve it.
The simplicity that has no name implies unselfishness.
If everyone can achieve the unselfishness of not doing, this world will be in peace.
