Bush Focuses on Terrorism, Economy
“We’ll prevail(1) in the war and we will defeat this recession(2)”. President Bush hopes that his popularity(3) will help him convince(4) Americans to be as he put it, “Steadfast(5), patient and persistent(6)”in disrupting(7) terrorists’plans. “The United States of America will not permit the world’s most dangerous regimes【政權(quán)】,to threaten us with the world most destructive(8) weapons”. Mr. Bush cited Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Winning the war on terrorism is a top priority(9) in the year ahead, said the president. And so is improving homeland security.
