Two Rival Leaders in Burma Hope More Talks
United Nations officials say the military(1)government in Burma and the Burmese Opposition have been holding direct talks since last October. A UN spokesman announced the talks after the end of a 5-day visit to Rangoon by diplomat(2)Ishmael Rizally. Mr. Rizally met with Burma’s top military leader Camute and opposition leader Athozogy. The leaders reportedly told Mr. Rizally that they are pleased with the talks and more discussions are planned.
