would可以表示過去的習(xí)慣 (= used to)
When he was young, he would sit/used to sit for hours, doing nothing.
他年輕的時(shí)候，常常一坐就是好幾小時(shí)，什么都不做。
When we were children, we would play/used to play basketball every Saturday. 我們小的時(shí)候，每個(gè)禮拜六都去打籃球。
Will you ~ ?是最常用的請求形式。would表示更有禮貌
Will you pass the pepper, please? / Pass the pepper, will you?
請把胡椒遞過來好嗎？
Would you turn down the TV a little, please?
Would you please turn down the TV a little?
請你將電視關(guān)小聲一點(diǎn)好嗎？
