2. What it boils down to is... 總而言之……
【瘋狂講解】“boil down”的愿意是煮掉一些水分，這讓我們想起了一個(gè)化學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)：在燒杯里放一些鹽水，然后用酒精燈加熱，煮啊煮啊，水煮干了，燒杯底下出現(xiàn)白色的氯化鈉。這樣一比喻，你就知道這個(gè)句型中的“boil down to”是怎么回事兒了。如果長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的討論或爭(zhēng)論最后只證明一件事情或一個(gè)問題，則我們就可以用這個(gè)句型。
◆ 瘋狂實(shí)戰(zhàn)
A: I just don’t understand why my idea was rejected. It really is a terrific opportunity for the company.
B: What it boils down to is we don’t have enough money.
