Show Me Some Sugar¹⁾

For diabetics²⁾ on the go，drawing blood to check sugar levels every two hours or so is a major inconvenience．Now comes a tool to ease the anguish³⁾．The wrist－mounted GlucoWatch Biographer checks sugar every２０minutes by sending tiny electric currents through the skin．If a reading is abnormal⁴⁾，the watch alerts the patient to recheck it traditionally．Future incarnations⁵⁾ will replace finger pricks altogether．

血糖測(cè)試儀

患糖尿病時(shí)，每?jī)蓚€(gè)小時(shí)左右就要抽一次血，以檢查血糖量，這樣帶來極大不便。現(xiàn)在有一種工具問世，可以減輕痛苦。戴在手腕上的血糖測(cè)試儀通過向皮膚中發(fā)送細(xì)小的電流來每２０分鐘核查一次血糖。如果一次讀數(shù)不正常，則該測(cè)試儀便對(duì)患者發(fā)出警報(bào)，要其用傳統(tǒng)方式重新加以核查。未來的型號(hào)將會(huì)徹底取代劃破手指的檢查方法。
