Credit Cards
In recent years, there has been an increasing amount of credit card use among college students. It is' easy for college students to get credit cards in that many banks encourage students to activate credit cards by providing gifts, counting on the fact that,in the futtite, more well-educated customers eam more, spend more and are more likely to pay credit card interest.
This phenomenon has both advantages and disadvantages. On the positive side, getting a student credit card is a good deal. Credit card companies have very few requirements regardingincome .level, since they expect.that the students will have higher incomesin the future.
However, on the negative side, many students are rather immature in handling money, and having a credit card tends to tempt them into spending more than they have.
In my opinion, having a credit card is very usf:ful. It is wise for a university student to getone' since being accepted for a credit card is more difficult after graduation since new graduates' starting incomes are usually quite low. I think'that students should wait until their senior year to get credit cards and establish a habit ofpaying offthe entire bill every month.
