There is no denying the fact that it is acontroversial topic whether one should expect areward when doing a good deed. People's opinionsdiffer sharply on this issue. Some hold the positiveview. They say that it is a natural thing for one toget rewarded after he has made contributions to thesociety, especially in an age of market economy.Otherwise, people would be discouraged from helpingothers.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They maintain that one should learn from Lei Fengand expect no reward when helping others. Anyway, everything is not a commodity. The wholesociety would be in danger if we all calculated conscience and affection in terms of money.Anyway, as the saying goes, it is love, instead of money, that turns the world around.
Personally, I believe that we should not go to extremes. On the one hand, we shouldrecognize and reward in time people who have done a good deed or good deeds; on the otherhand, we should keep it in mind that we do not help others for money, but out of love andresponsibility. Only in this way can we achieve a really harmonious society.
