Easter Eggs
Last year for Easter, my friend Marta and I decided to bring an American tradition to our European friends. We knew that in Europe they make very beautiful Easter eggs - ones with yarn wrapped around the outside or beautifully painted. In America, we do something different for our Easter eggs. We hard-boil the eggs instead of blowing out the yolks, as they do in Europe. Then, we have an "Easter Egg Decorating Kit," which comes with different colored tablets, stickers, and crayons. You put each tablet in a different glass of water. Then you can put the eggs in the glass and it will become that color! You can also write something with a white crayon on the egg, and that part will remain white. I thought I would be teaching my friends how to do something creative, but they made the most beautiful eggs I've ever seen! Using the crayon, they drew very fancy designs on the eggs and made them wonderful colors! We all had a lot of fun together, and we definitely learned something about each others'cultures!
