世博園中擺起“滿月酒”

越來越多的人將世博園視為舉辦宴席的最佳地點(diǎn)，已經(jīng)開始有家庭在世博園區(qū)的飯店里為寶寶舉辦滿月酒，還有不少人打算在世博園舉行婚禮、辦壽宴和生日宴等等。

“滿月酒”應(yīng)該是中國的小寶寶們過的第一個隆重盛大的生日，傳統(tǒng)風(fēng)俗中，滿月酒上是要吃紅雞蛋的，所以“滿月酒”也被稱為red egg party。

In Chinese culture, a baby's first month birthday calls for a celebration.Traditionally, the baby's name is also announced at this time.  The parents hand out red-dyed eggs, symbolizing happiness and the renewal of life.
在中國，小孩滿月時要舉辦熱鬧的宴會，一般孩子的名字也在此時宣布。宴會上父母會給客人吃紅雞蛋，象征幸福和生命的延續(xù)。

Traditionally, this was also a time to reintroduce the mother to the world. The Chinese believe mothers are in a highly weakened state in the period immediately following birth. Just as English custom calls for new mothers to enjoy a brief period of confinement, Chinese mothers have traditionally been expected to rest indoors for one full month after giving birth.
滿月酒也是母親在生完小孩后第一次與親戚朋友見面的場合。一般孕婦在生產(chǎn)后身體都會很虛弱，正如英國傳統(tǒng)上會要求孕婦生產(chǎn)后閉門不出，在中國，剛生完孩子的母親是要坐月子的。

這里，“坐月子”我們就可以說成是one-month confinement after child-birth。
