The couple's relationship has seemed to have been moving fast since it started in July. Reed reportedly is a frequent fixture on "The Vampire Diaries" set and the two have adopted several animals together, including a horse and a kitten.

The news comes soon after Reed's marriage of two years to "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald was finalized. Somerhalder previously dated his "TVD" co-star Nina Dobrev for at least two years.
