(Office ambience)

C：Hi, Mary. Do you have a minute? I need your help.

M：Sure. What is it?

C：公司的部幾位高層領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人這星期從美國(guó)到這里來(lái)訪問(wèn)。我的老板讓我今天晚上陪其中的一位，Mr. Johnson去參加我們客戶(hù)舉行的招待會(huì)。

C：讓我試一試。要是客戶(hù)的名字是Smith，我該說(shuō)：Mr. Smith, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Johnson。對(duì)嗎？

M：No, 不對(duì)。你應(yīng)該說(shuō)：Mr. Smith, I would like to introduce Mr. Johnson to you。要是你把我介紹給Mr. Johnson你該怎么說(shuō)？

C：我該說(shuō)：Mr. Johnson, I would like to introduce Mary to you.

M：That' correct。這里的差別似乎很微妙，但是很重要。我們?cè)賮?lái)復(fù)習(xí)一遍。

C：OK。 Rule #1，always introduce people of lesser rank to people of greater rank。

M：對(duì)，要是我把你陳豪介紹給Mr. Johnson, 我該說(shuō)：Mr. Johnson, I would like to introduce Chen Hao to you。

C：這已經(jīng)符合Rule #2: say the name of the most important person first。
