[00:13.61]Their chief use for delight, is in privateness and retiring; [00:18.31]for ornament, is in discourse; [00:20.72]and for ability, is in the judgement and disposition of business. [00:25.20]For expert men can execute, and perhaps judge of particulars, one by one; [00:31.77]but the general counsels, and the plots and marshalling of affairs, [00:36.37]come best from those that are learned. [00:38.88]To spend too much time in studies is sloth; [00:42.50]to use them too much for ornament,is affectation; [00:46.76]to make judgement wholly by their rules, is the humour of a scholar.
