WALL-E (stylized with an interpunct as WALL·E) is a 2008 American computer-animated romantic science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Andrew Stanton.

Disney and Pixar join forces for this computer-animated tale about a wide-eyed robot who travels to the deepest reaches of outer space in search of a newfound friend. The year is 2700, and planet Earth has long been uninhabitable. For hundreds of years, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) has been taking out the trash, and collecting precious knick-knacks in order to stave off the boredom of his dreary routine. Little does WALL-E realize that he has recently stumbled onto a secret that could save planet Earth, and once again make the ravaged planet safe for all humankind. When highly advanced search robot EVE, who also has a programmed task, makes friends with WALL-E and realizes the value of his remarkable discovery, she excitedly races back to let the humans know that there's hope for their home planet after all. But after centuries alone in space, WALL-E falls in love with EVE, he can't stand the thought of losing the only friend he's ever known, and follows her into outer space on an adventure that changes the destiny of both his kind and humanity. Along the way, the friendly trash-collecting robot who has always known what he was made for gradually begins to understand what he was meant for.

After directing Finding Nemo, Stanton felt Pixar had created believable simulations of underwater physics and was willing to direct a film largely set in space. Most of the characters do not have actual human voices, but instead communicate with body language and robotic sounds, designed by Ben Burtt, that resemble voices. In addition, it is the first animated feature by Pixar to have segments featuring live-action characters.

Walt Disney Pictures released it in the United States and Canada on June 27, 2008. The film grossed$23.2 million on its opening day, and $63.1 million during its opening weekend in 3,992 theaters, ranking number one at the box office. This ranks as the fifth highest-grossing opening weekend for a Pixar film. Following Pixar tradition, WALL-E was paired with a short film, Presto, for its theatrical release.

WALL-E has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews among critics, scoring an approval rating of 96% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. It grossed $521.3 million worldwide, won the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film, the 2009 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form, the final Nebula Award for Best Script, the Saturn Award for Best Animated Film, and the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature as well as being nominated for five other Academy Awards at the 81st Academy Awards. WALL-E ranks first in TIME's "Best Movies of the Decade".

WALL-E, besides being entertaining, is also seen as a critique on larger societal issues. This film addresses consumerism, nostalgia, environmental problems, waste management, and the immense impact that humans have on the earth. There is also a rather major overarching theme through this movie, which is issues of human nature, and the direction that the human race is headed. WALL-E is seen as a movie that appeals to both conservative and liberal audiences.

劇情簡介

公元2700年，人類文明高速發(fā)展，卻因污染和生活垃圾大量增加使得地球不再適于人類居住。地球人被迫乘坐飛船離開故鄉(xiāng)，進行一次漫長無邊的宇宙之旅。臨行前他們委托Buynlarge公司對地球垃圾進行清理，等待有朝一日，清理完之后，可以重回地球。

于是Buynlarge公司制造了大量的機器人來撿垃圾。但是，這種機器人好像并不能適應地球的環(huán)境，漸漸地都壞掉了，最后只剩下一個機器人。對于這個機器人來說，顯然這是個不可能完成的任務。就這樣過了幾百年，這個機器人收集了很多人類制造的東西，最讓它喜歡的是一盒錄像帶——芭芭拉·史翠珊主演的歌舞片《你好，多莉》。

漸漸地，這個僅存的機器人有了自己的意識，它開始感到寂寞。有一天，一艘飛船從天而降，差點砸到它。從飛船里下來一個叫做伊芙的機器人，她是來負責搜索一些東西的，撿垃圾的機器人“愛”上了伊芙。但是，它必須面臨著抉擇，是隨著伊芙的飛船離開地球，還是繼續(xù)按照預設的指令把垃圾撿下去。面對“愛情”，它選擇和伊芙一起離開，飛向太空，不過，真正的好戲，才剛剛開始……

制作花絮

本片共費時4年，超過200人參與制作。如果只讓一個人完成這些工作的話，大概需要442年。

瓦力眼睛的制造想法源于導演在看球時兒子的望遠鏡和照相機里對焦時鏡頭扭動的啟發(fā)。

本片前20分鐘都沒有任何對話，前40分鐘沒有人類的對話。
