Tom: Hey,Ann,long time no see.

嘿，安，好久不見。

Ann: Hey,Tom,how are you?

嘿，湯姆，你好嗎?

Tom: Fine,thanks. May I treat you to dinner?

很好，謝謝。我可以請你吃飯嗎?

Ann: I am afraid I cann’t,maybe some other time.

恐怕不行，也許下一次吧。

Tom: Is there any urgency?

有什么急事嗎?

Ann: Yes,I have to go to the hospital right now.

是的，我現(xiàn)在得去醫(yī)院。

Tom: What happened?

發(fā)生什么事了?

Ann: My mother is being operated on.

我母親正在手術中。

Tom: Is that serious?

嚴重嗎?

Ann: If the operation is successful,she must be OK.

如果手術成功的話，她就脫離危險了。
